Tivoli is one of the top day trip destinations from Rome, and for good reason: it has been a favorite destination since Ancient Rome!
On this tour you will enjoy Hadrian’s Villa (Villa Adriana), one of the most magnificent Imperial complexes of Ancient Rome, and Villa d’Este, and enchanting example of Renaissance Italian villa and gardens.
Built by the ancient Roman Emperor Hadrian, Villa Adriana is a vast complex consisting of more than 30 massive buildings across some 250 acres. It was so self sufficient he was able to rule Rome from here. The complex included imperial palaces, libraries, temples, thermal baths, state rooms, theater, quarters for the praetorians, courtiers and laborers. Exotic pools, ponds, and gardens made this imperial complex one of the greatest wonders of Ancient Rome.
Not far from Hadrian’s Villa in Tivoli is Villa d’Este, famous for its elegant Italian gardens in perfect harmony with hundreds of fountains, and the opulent Renaissance villa that overlooks the landscaped masterpiece below.
The charming historic town of Tivoli is also perfect for a stroll and to enjoy a nice relaxing lunch.
